It was a much of talk about Cortana landing on Windows 8, but now its
almost sure that the virtual assistant will make its appearance in a
future, final version of Windows 10.
TheVerge has recently somehow confirmed that digital assistant Cortana will get released at a certain point in the future within Windows 10. The virtual assistant will be launched by clicking on the new search button on the taskbar.
Thus, with a simple click, users will be able to interact with the digital voice assistant, similar to how this is being done in Windows Phone.
What you see above is a just a mock-up, but maybe it isnt that far from the final version.
The publication says that Cortana is one of the many changes that will be coming ahead of the final release of Windows 10 next year. And it seems that Microsoft is already testing the digital assistant inside of other Windows 10 builds.
Cortana will be fully integrated into the search experience in Windows 10, so theres a lot of engineering going behind the curtains to make sure the product is flawless. TheVerge says that Cortana will appear at the top of that search functionality once it will be activated.
You will be able to type to Cortana in Windows 10 to ask it to remind you to do things, or to search for content locally in apps or on the web. However, it seems that Microsoft isnt creating a separate app for Cortana on the desktop, as the assistant will improve the existing search experience in Windows 8.
However, at this point its not yet sure how will Cortana handle voice queries, but it will be a real pity if this wont be a feature of the voice assistant. Well update you, as always, with new information as it becomes available.
